Education + Examination + Experience = CPA Certification Requirements in Maine
The CPA Certificate is granted to those who have met the requirements for practicing public accounting as enacted by the State of Maine for the benefit and protection of its citizens.
The Maine Board of Accountancy grants a Certificate of Certified Public Accountant to a person who:
- Is of good moral character
- Completes 150 semester hours of college education
- Passes the Uniform CPA Examination
- Satisfies the experience requirements
- Files an application for a CPA Certificate with the Maine Board of Accountancy and pays required fees
